ЕМНИП, и "наше все" и "зеркало русской революции" выучили родной язык после французского, поэтому и "не чурались иноязычных слов". Некоторые вещи они просто не могли выразить по-русски, есть место в "Войне и мире" где Толстой над этим иронизирует
